Conneé Winslow - Artistic Director Conneé started dancing at the age of 5 in Cleveland, Ohio, where she was the child prodigy of Sergei Poppleoff from the Moscow Ballet. While growing up, she performed on TV and stage in her native Cleveland and was the youngest member of the Cleveland Music Carnival at the age of 16. At the age of 11, Conneé became a professional dancer and appeared on the original Mickey Mouse Club as an honorary Mousekeeter. She also appeared on the Jackie Gleason TV Show, and was featured in over 35 professional musical comedies as a dancer, singer and actress. For the past 32 years, Conneé has had the privilege of teaching many students from the Venice area who have gone on to dance in college and professionally.

Gillian McCormack - Instructor
began studying Irish Dance with Arthur Burns at the age of 3. At 3½ she was competing in Ireland and won numerous awards. Upon moving to the U.S., Gillian began studying with The Butler School and competed nationwide. She has won many trophies and medals for both her singing and dancing. Gillian moved to the Carl Drake School and now teaches for Carl Drake.

Fran Frederick - We are very proud to have Ms. Fran join our staff this year. Ms. Fran was a student for 14 years in all mediums of dance and an
assistant for 7 years. She has had continuous studies at workshops, conventions, and lessons from such well known teachers as Gus Giordano, Lou Conte and Tom Ralabate for the past 32 years. Ms. Fran has taught tap, jazz, ballet, pointe and owned and operated L: Danse Academie in Joliet, IL. for 32 years ant for eight years, had 2 studios. Ms. Fran has been a member of Chicago National Association of Dance Masters, Member of Dance Educators of America, Secretary of Unity Dance Organization, She has served on the board of CNADM as Educational Director and Principal in charge of faculty hiring and eventually president. In 2002 Ms. Fran joined the Venice Little Theaters Silver Foxes program. While Fran is proficient in ballet, jazz, tap and pre dance (creative dance) she considers tap and pre -dance her specialty.

Renata Gaona - Co-Artistic Director - Renata started her career 33 yrs. ago as a classical ballet and jazz dancer. Renata majored in Classical Ballet in 1985 and graduated in Physical Ed. in 1991. She has been a Jazz choreographer for 17 yrs. and in 1989 won the ENDA prize as the best jazz group in Brazil. Renata began teaching jazz at the RT Academy in Brazil. In 1990, she became the director in that studio.

Sonja Rose Romanski
Sonja began her dance education here at Attitudes in Dance at the age of 3 under the direction of Connée Winslow. She trained in Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Musical Theatre, Lyrical, Hip-Hop, Pilates, and Modern dance. She became a class demonstrator at the age of 13, and assisted in all mediums. Along with local performances at such places at the Venice Little Theatre, Sonja has placed in Florida dance competitions with Attitudes in Dance, and completed Florida dance workshops. Sonja spent 4 summers in New York City where she trained at Broadway Dance Center, The Ailey School, Steps on Broadway, and Baryshnikov Arts Center. She completed Broadway Dance Center’s Summer Intensive program in 2006, and has trained with well-known instructors/choreographers Brian Friedman, Michelle Assaf, Frank Hatchett, and Kat Wildish. She has also taken Broadway classes with stars from the award-winning shows Mamma Mia, and Chicago. After graduating from Venice High School, Sonja was accepted into New World School of the Arts College Dance Division, where she had extensive training in Ballet and Modern techniques. Sonja has had multiple course work in African dance, Street Jazz, and House dancing. In 2008, Sonja choreographed a piece for the film The Myth of the American Sleepover. The film was accepted into large festivals.
